The New Look

In the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, I experienced a few xenophobic micro aggressions with anti-Asian sentiments. Currently living in Berlin where masks are not normalized, I was hesitant to wear a mask because I thought my wearing a mask could provoke further negative attentions.

Now that governments started to order people to cover their faces in public. It seems like we will all be deciding which mask to wear before we step outside. As the world embraces the masks, it will stay with us as the new normal.
